I have purchased this book every time the updated version comes out. Now that I have the kindle version it is even easier to read up on any medication that is prescribed for myself or my family.This version tells you in, plain language, what side effects to look for, interactions with food and other medications and what medical problems make prescribing the medication contraindicated.having been in the healthcare field for many years, I am aware that unintentional mistakes can be made, having the PDRsaves you ,your family and your physician from tragic mistakes.I believe this book is a wonderful resource for any family.

This is NOT pocket size unless you are literally a giant. If you are looking for something that you can keep in your pocket and reference quickly just for the brand/generic names, this is not what you want. It has descriptions and directions for use so it is unique for that, but all that info makes this book way too thick to keep on you at work. Maybe could be used to help study the drugs for certification testing, but in all it is not a good "pocket" guide since it is so large and heavy.

Got for nursing med cards and not one medication that I needed was in it. I ended up giving it to my mom. Get Davis Drug Guide and don't bother with this

The book was good but more general than I expected. The one I purchase several years ago had greaer details and more drugs listed.For the average reader this book shoud be acceptable but I was looking for something for professional, MD, PA, Nurse and EMS Tech.

This pocket guide is for lay persons only. Looking to prevent life threatening allergic reactions DO NOT look to this book. Perhaps the REAL Physicians Desk Reverence (cost about $80 or so).

The American Heritage History Of The 1920s & 1930's is a great book that I recommend for anyone desiring a detailed history of the era. Plenty of pictures, news articles, 13 short biographies, excerpts from radio broadcasts and mentions of previous eras.HOWEVER, I must criticize the Amazon site's reviews. In many instances, the reviews are of books and movies that DON'T MATCH the product being offered. This is confusing and not at all helpful in getting an idea of the product.

This dictionary is okay in itself, but the print is TINY! I suppose that was a trade-off to get the volume small in size, but I find I have to take it to a very bright light in order to be able to read it. If you have vision problems, I would not recommend this particular dictionary.

I work in an academic library. I noticed an English instructor purchased 30 books for her students to check out. While processing this book I noticed what a great dictionary this is and bought one for myself for home. It packs a lot of information in a small book. Even has pictures which you don't usually find in small handbook dictionaries.

It's inexpensive. Physically it's light, small. Perfect for throwing down in a backpack. People with poor vision will want to go for something larger, but most of the market for this size of a dictionary is probably college students, and they typically won't mind having smaller text size-small price for not having to lug around another massive book.Content wise I'm sure it's missing a lot of words, you can only cram so much in a book this size. That hasn't really come up for me, but if you can't find a word you can do a web search or go grab a bigger dictionary. The main point of something like this is it can always be right there with you-Phones die, some classes and libraries frown on them or you don't get service-Other dictionaries are just too big and you don't want to keep it with you.As far as definitions go, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the American Heritage Dictionary. So many times when a question arises about usage of words and we pull out a dictionary to discuss, my usage is not properly covered. Then I go to the AHD, and sure enough, they've got my back! I don't know if it is a regional thing (I'm from the midwest-live in chicago, a lot of Iowans in my family), if other areas of the country/world don't accept the way we use words here, or just an oversight, but the AHD is the only choice for a dictionary for me!You're either going to love it or hate it.If this is going to be your only dictionary to have around the house, won't have to travel with it, has to be all-inclusive/easy to read-THIS IS NOT THE DICTIONARY FOR YOU. Get something bigger.If you need something ultra light and portable that you can keep with you as the first place to go, this is a fantastic choice.

What can you say about a dictionary. They are not all created equal. I like this one and use it as my primary dictionary because of all the interesting information about the word that is included. I have a paper version and an ipad app. I just the app and enjoy the audio pronunciation. Searching for words is easy with the app.Bottom liine is that of all the dictionaries out there I prefer this one for clarity, depth if infomration, synonyms, antonyms and number of words covered.

When this first arrived, I thought it would be awkward to use because of its weight and overall size. It is not. I placed it on an end table next to my reading chair, rather than on the floor next to me. It's a beautiful dictionary, and I don't have to use a magnifying glass in order to read it. That makes it better than my Webster's dictionary.

Perfectly portable dictionary. I've always been a fan of the American Heritage Dictionary and this one doesn't disappoint. Yes, the font is a bit too small, but the information you need is there. It's not like it's a novel you have to read in it's entirety. You look up a word and that's it.

This is extensive and I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting a dictionary or an updated version of one. It is one of the better one's out there if not the best. I got the paperback because I need to transport it form place to place. If I could leave it on a desk top I would buy the hardback. It just seems so official. My cover was a bit bent in the corner when I received it but not bad enough to warrant an exchange.

She is the kind of person everyone wants in their life. She had a big heart and was understanding and kind. You could not help but love her. I did feel she was too easy on Ethan, but it fit her personality.Ethan Everest is a guarded man. As a billionaire, he knows not everyone likes him for who he is, but for what he is. He keeps secrets and does not trust easily. He was hurt in the past and has learned his lesson. But something about Singer pulls at him. After a year of near misses, could this finally be their chance?Ethan and Singer met at a party and felt something between them, but Ethan was distracted, and the moment passed. They continued to dance around each other for about a year. Then the sparks fly.Everest has a slow-burn romance at the start and at times you want to shake Ethan, but the story picks up nicely and the added suspense adds so much to the story.I loved Everest by S.L. Scott. It was a second chance romance of sorts with compelling characters and a story that will draw you in. Their chemistry was intense. I could not put this book down!Happy reading!

Just an absolutely amazing fairy tale romance that hit all emotion buttons.Ethan Everest and Singer Davis are a match made in romance novel heaven. From chapter 1, the author has you rooting for them. She delivers a delicious slow-burn to first base and as Ethan rounds the bases, S.L. Scott had me swooning. Ethan has learned a play or two in his practice years and Singer gets to reap all the benefits.This story is not all hot dogs and beer, there are a few bitter bites to swallow and I lapped them up as my eyes filled with tears and my heart was torn from my chest.  Suzie has once again sucked me into a world where her characters seem so real and I want to be a part of their little gang, their non-blood family where they each love and protect each other to the very end.I totally recommend Everest for all the romance novel lovers. This is a believable story where love at first sight is real, good battles evil to overcome mountains, faith and hope are tested, happy events turn ugly fast, but in the end, our hero and heroine figure it out and deliver a very smile-worthy HEA. My only regret was that I had to leave Ethan and Singer in my past but they are forever ingrained in my heart. Some books are never long enough. Â

Ethan meets Singer after their gazes hold across a crowded room. Sounds cheesy, right? But that is so not the case, especially when you consider what is happening in the background (literally and figuratively) with Ethan’s personal life and current girlfriend. Unbeknownst to her, Ethan is a tech billionaire that appreciates Singer’s blissful ignorance when it comes to his identity (unlike his gold digging, calculating ex). Ethan’s emotionally unavailable, Singer’s unavailable without emotion, can Ethan make a relationship work with her when he comes out of his current relationship completely scarred? Can they have a do-over of that fateful night where Ethan went home with another woman?If ever there was a slow burn story, Everest is it. As the tension ramps up, it’s no surprise that things become combustible. The story, told in the first person from both characters’ points of view, starts a little slow, but will immediately hook you. The characters were complex and I loved the chemistry between Ethan and Singer. The supporting cast of characters was also great and contributed to twists I didn’t see coming.I wish there had been a little more resolution at the end, it kind of felt rushed and I would have loved to get more background info about the person from the big twist as well as Singer and Melanie’s lives in the Big Apple. Other than that though, Ethan was an absolute swoon-worthy hero and I loved Singer’s strength. It seems as though Scott is trying to best herself with each release of just how dreamy she can make her book boyfriends; she’s got a huge challenge ahead of her after the amazing Ethan Everest!

I did not know what I was getting into when I started reading this story. Having read only the Kingwood series and understood this to be a standalone, I was prepared for anything. But I was not prepared for Ethan Everest, my new book boyfriend.Ethan's character can be as complex or as easy as they can be. His subtle alpha magnetism is intoxicating. He envelopes you and your heart, you can't help but be enthralled with him from the get-go. His layers are many, yet they are discoverable, this is what I love most about Everest, the book AND the man! His mysteriousness keeps you locked in and you will get frustrated with him and his ways, but do you really want open-book characters all the time? Are you in love with Everest yet? How about his easygoing manner and wit, the generosity that he is so modest about or his charming ways which are endearing?And Singer? This is a woman with a big heart; her loyalty is comforting. Her beauty lies in her honesty, she does not play love games and her capacity for love is limitless.Everest sweeps you off your feet, it keeps you engaged and invested in the characters that the author develops chapter after chapter. My curiosity about Ethan's background was consuming. This is a slow burn, second chance story that hits it out of the park (hey, Ethan loves baseball!).
