This is such a beautiful baby book. Not at all a typical baby book that just has the standard pages and information to fill out, this reads more like a story with beautiful photographs throughout where you get to fill in special details for your child. It does include pages and places for all the "standard" baby book stuff but just lays it out in such a way that it feels so much more special. The photographs throughout the book are awesome. Excellent quality. Ordered one for each of my kids! There are not a bunch of specific spots to attach photos or a slot to put mementos in but the pages are so thick and high quality that you could easily attach these things wherever you wanted to.

A really nice one. I'm not much of one for these types of books and have to admit I haven't been great about filling mine out. That said, I really appreciate the different approach to the look and feel. The pictures are beautiful and I can see this being engaging if you want to reach this to your child and talk about how they have grown up with them. I also think it's a great gift, especially for animal or nature lovers. Substantial and beautiful.

The book is beautiful, the passages are sweet, and the baby information pages contain enough information, but not too much. I recommend this book for someone who wants a baby book that is a little more grown up and artsy.

I cannot say enough about the book. This book is absolutely beautiful! The photos are top-notch, Nat Geo quality. My husband and I are both animal and travel lovers; we want to pass that passion on to our children. This is the perfect "baby book" for us. It even has transcendental poetry throughout (did I mention I'm an English teacher?!). My favorite aspect of the book is that it doesn't feel like a baby book. It isn't kitschy or cliche at all. It's a wonderful choice for new, adventurous parents.

Upon the birth of my first grandchild I gifted my son and daughter-in-law with this gorgeous, sentimental keepsake Baby Book.There's plenty if space to fill in all the special moments and memories. What makes this keepsake unique are the colorful sceneson each page. You can go back to this treasure chest of memories, pour over each page, and loose yourself in all these specialmoments any time.

This was one of my favorite items I bought for my baby. It has beautiful pictures. It is fun to write in. It has things to track that you don't normally see like "what the neighborhood was like and the house was like when you were born" I get excited to write in this book.

The best baby book for crafty, unique and nature appreciative parents. There is room to scrap book and make it your own if you’d like to add more memories! Both my 2 year old and 3 month old have this and I was able to personalize each so they don’t feel like duplicates at all. Super high quality and a great baby memory saver!!

This is a HIGH QUALITY book. The photos are outstanding, and the format is thoughtful with complete coverage of baby's milestones. Definitely a keeper. I'm so glad I purchased this.

After jumping to the web to read about the products in this book, only to find they have been discontinued almost a decade ago, then hitting a paragraph stating that an advantage is "being able to record to your VCR" I came to the realization that I have been misled by the supposed publication date, probably a reprint or "conversion to Kindle" date. Although one can learn about some background fundamentals, you'll need to look elsewhere to find info on the latest hardware, software, & techniques.Each chapter in the Kindle version starts with the books author's names, their locations, and the words "Without Abstract" making it appear that this is not the version in the print book.

The other reviewer hits the nail on the head. With only about 13 pages devoted to describing the various video cameras available this book leaves you with more questions than answers about camera selection. I tracked down websites for the various cameras mentioned and I was unable to make a sensible comparison of their features. The cameras mentioned range from $275 to $800 and they clearly feel this is the best bang-for-the-buck. There is a passing mention of webcams, but little more. There is no mention at all of Celestron's Celestron NexImage Solar System Imager.That said, the bulk of the book is an in-depth step-by-step guide to manipulating the raw video you have captured and explains how to get the best possible images. The book is also filled with great photos, each listed with the telescope specs listed, but not always the camera model. There's also a nice little section on using a video camera for guiding.If I ever buy a video camera this book will be invaluable; but I'll have to find another source of information to guide my camera selection.

I bought this book as part of my introduction to video astronomy and am happy I did. Read it twice. Most of the book, about 60 or 181 pages discusses image processing in reasonable detail using Registax for stacking and Photoshop for post processing. Covers the topics in step by step fashion. Very helpful to the novice or someone still learning. The video camera and video capture sections are a bit dated but only because things have changed quickly in this field. There are lots and lots of great images in both black and white and color. Covers all the essentials including additional equipment and all of the techniques you need to know about.

All of these books are useful even though some are a bit dated now. I wish I owned the whole series.

This is the only book I have found that addresses the theory, operation and use in a clear simple fashion. I highly recommend it.

If you plan on using a frame accumulation camera for viewing or image capture this book is a great help.

Massey and Quirk's (M&Q) latest book is largely a prescriptive guide to operating a monochrome frame-accumulation video camera with a telescope. It tells the user what to do and when to do it. It describes the GSTAR-EX camera sold by Massey, and the well-known Registax program, and spends a lot of time in describing the steps the operator must go through to get results from the astrophoto session.M&Q spend most time on the GSTAR-EX camera sold by Massey, with only occasional mention of other competing products (StellaCam, Mintron, Watec, Imaging Source) and no mention at all of the Mallincam Hyper. This is not a criticism; if you use one of these other devices you will still find the book useful.Careful reading is needed to tease out equipment configuration which will work with a given telescope. This is one area where M&Q could have spent more time, as it represents the greatest cost to the isolated amateur trying to get things right. The writers are also exclusively PC-centric, but if you use Macs you may still find the broad steps applicable to the software you do use.The gallery at the end of the book is spellbinding, and shows M&Q's consummate abilities at the telescope. Enviable indeed. The section on "photographs from light polluted skies" gives some idea of what can be achieved with the GSTAR from suburbia using moderate telescopes (8 - 10" Newtonians and SCTs, 4" ED refractors, etc).My verdict - the book is a worthwhile addition to the amateur's library. It will not provide as much background theory as the amateur might wish for, but in its stated aim of introducing the amateur astronomer to video astronomy, it does a very good job.Disclaimer:- the author does not have a GSTAR-EX nor is affiliated with M&Q.

I wasn’t sure if Kaur was going to be able to pierce my soul like she did with Milk & Honey but she did it with ease. A journey of self love and raw observations about the world around us.The only thing I did notice was if you are an advid reader like myself, you probably picked up a lot of similarity from other poets and works. I think we all strive for originality but sometimes it falls short.I will saw that Rupi Kaur is not for everyone, I know people who worships the ground she walks on and other who loathe her for her writing style.But that’s the thing about poetry, it doesn’t need to be perfect to be power.

This is the second collection of free verse (with some prose) poetry and line drawn art by Rupi Kaur, an ethnically Indian Canadian poet. Like the first collection, “Milk and Honey,” this collection has been well received critically. The strengths of the collection include some beautiful, evocative, and unique use of language; the author’s willingness to lay it all on the line in a bold and brave fashion; and the often clever--if simple, verging on crude—artwork. Its greatest weakness is frequent restatement of clichéd notions and truisms that don’t stand up well juxtaposed to the more personal and illuminating lines.The collection is divided into five parts, each of them reflecting a theme—while being tied together by the titular floral theme. “Wilting” is about breakups. This flows smoothly in tone into the second part, “Falling,” which is about sexual violence, depression, and the linkage between them. “Rooting” is about family and origins, and—in particular—the poet’s relationship with her mother. As an immigrant child who moved to Canada from Punjab while young, Kaur was more attuned to her new home than her parents—who were less at ease with their adopted homeland and more rooted to their ancestral home. The penultimate part, “Rising” is about love and relationships, and it takes the collection into brighter territory. “Blooming” is about feeling comfortable within one’s own skin, and—in particular—the female experience of it.As hinted, the overall organization of the collection seems purposeful and intriguing. The two melancholy parts at the beginning are blended into the last two (more optimistic) parts by way of a chapter on roots and family. This bridging seems to be done on purpose to make a statement.I enjoyed this collection, and would highly recommend it for poetry readers—particularly for those who enjoy free verse.

Book was inappropriate for minors

I was excited to purchase both The Sun and Her Flowers and Milk and Honey as these were actually books recommended to my 14 year old daughter to read (so she put them in her Christmas list). However, when the books got here, I skimmed through. I personally do not feel this is appropriate for my 14 year old. Nowhere in the descriptions did it say anything about sexual content. From what I did read, the books seems like A great read for a more mature reader. Maybe 17. I just feel with the particular sexual content and some of the illustrations, I would not recommend for anyone under 17.

My 13 year old granddaughter asked for this book of 'poetry' for Christmas. After receiving the book and perusing it's contents I discovered that it contained some questionable content for a 13 year old. Be advised that their are graphic sketches and material that you may not be prepared to explain to your young reader.

LOVE Rupi and LOVE this book! If you read her first book (Milk and Honey), it's still in Rupi's signature style, but she manages to cover similar topics from a different standpoint. It kind of feels as though her books are maturing with her, as this one handles the issues from Milk and Honey in a more mature, learned tone. Definitely recommend that ALL young women read this, if for no other reason than to see that we are all sharing very similar struggles in love and life in general.

This was my first hard copy of Rupi Kaur’s books. I read it in sections so I could allow time for the words and images to sink deeply into my soul. It evolves beautifully from wilting at the beginning until blooming at the end. Her writing is lyrical and realistic. Her love of self brings me a new appreciation for the process so many of us women experience after living in darkness.

I love Rupi's style of books. She is very honest and open in her poems which I think is important especially for young readers. I love this book and hope to reread it again soon. I recommend it to anyone looking for a positive and enlightening story made of poems.
