I purchased this book because I wanted a change of pace from the self-growth books I was reading. Although some may categorize this is another self-growth book I viewed as an autobiography- growth book. I love how each chapter is titled after the lesson Chris Jericho learned. The lessons aren't anything new like "Always have a relentless work ethic", or "Never take no for an answer" but the story that Chris Jericho has behind them is nothing short of spectacular. I wish this book had an audiobook because it would have been amazing to hear Chris narrate his own book.One of the points I wanted Chris to touch on was 1. His time in Mexico and 2. His story/ road to WWE. You will find both of those here and find even more on other wrestlers such as Triple H and even the WWE Chairman himself, Vincent Kennedy Mcmahon.Overall it is an excellent book that any WWE fan will enjoy just like I did. Go ahead and purchase it you won't be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book. It's different than his last books though I must say. If you into this expecting to read about all sorts of wrestling stories from his last run...you're going to be disappointed. However if you go into this just because you like Chris then you'll be very happy. This is a motivational style book with each chapter based off a positive idea on ways to live life to the fullest.There's many stories in here that are very entertaining, and Chris name drops like no other. While there aren't many wrestling stories in it, the ones that are in it are very fascinating.I'd give this book four stars simply because I like Chris so of course I liked his book. Not to mention he did a great job with this book as he did in the past.

Thoroughly enjoyed this motivational/business/self-improvement book. If you're a Jericho fan, before you "pfft, I don't need a self-help book", note that it is full of great stories from his wrestling and music career. At times I forgot that he was even trying to give advice on how to live a better life because I was so invested into the stories. If you're a Jericho, Wrestling, or music fan, or just want a little kick in the butt, I think you'll enjoy this book.

There really is nothing this man can't do. This book is far different then his normal biography but that's doesn't mean it's not as good. He still tells wrestling and fozzy stories but does in a way that makes you want to get off your lazy but and do something to better your life. Chris has given me so much entertainment for almost all my life and I could never thank him enough for that. Please read this book it's absolutely genius.

I've been familiar with Chris Jericho for nearly 20 years and always enjoy listening to his podcasts and other people interviewing him.So, I was shocked when I quit this book only after about 2-3 chapters.I think it has to do with the ghostwriter's writing style of Jericho's words and personality. It came off as something that was intended for people under 20 years old.

This is the fourth book that Chris Jericho has written and it is just as charming and funny as all the others. It is definitely something that all wrestling and music fan should read. Although, I think everyone will enjoy it. It is definitely the most entertaining self help book I have ever come across.

A good and quick read of life lessons from the Ayatollah of Rock n'Rolla himself, Chris Jericho weaves a decent tome from a combination of stories from his experiences as a musician alongside his failures and successes as a wrestler. In his indomitable style, he sells a concise potion of determination, desire, patience and perseverance- drink it maaaaaan!

Pastor-Teacher Jack Hayford's teachings are so accurate and inspired that they never disappoint the reader who is hungry for a living God. Brother Jack lives on a fresh anointing every day and it is to our benefit to be able to absorb it on a daily basis. It is easy enough to understand to the comparative beginner, but challenging enough to make the reader hungry after more manna tomorrow. I am grateful to the Spirit Filled Bible, so much so that I felt compelled to give my most recent edition to a young soldier going off to war in Afghanistan for a 3 year tour. both are great publications to study and to share.

Jack Hayford is a unique Bible teacher, pastor, and leader. Every word evokes a myriad of feelings, thoughts, and ideas. This is a wonderful work and I was fortunate to get the earlier version too. It is amazing how well this teaching has withstood the test of time. This will make an EXCELLENT small group study, individual development or devotional.You are worth the investment in yourself that the price of this book requires. More than that, you are worth the investment applying the teachings in this book will require of you.

You will never think of the book of Nehemiah the in same way again. Excellent read!

There's so much to rave about when it comes to this book. It's the exhibition catalog of an unprecedented show that is only being held at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, so if you can't attend the show, this book is a perfect portal to the exciting scholarship and gorgeous items on display. What makes the show so unprecedented, you ask? Well, it's the first exhibition about the Pre-Raphaelites to ever display their works of art in conjunction with the Medieval and Renaissance works of art that inspired them. Seems like a no-brainer, doesn't it? Well, no one had ever done it before, and curator Melissa Buron went through quite a lot of negotiations to get some of the artworks for the show, artworks that NEVER leave their home museums because they are considered far too precious to travel. (We're talking PRB works, but also Italian renaissance masters, Northern Renaissance masters, medieval books, etc.)The show was dazzling, and it's only fitting that the book itself should be, too. And honestly, the book is absolutely ravishing. The production design is evocative, with textured, colored paper, and high quality images. The scholarship presented within is also both compelling and highly readable. It provides one of the most well-rounded and modern looks at the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood in print today--including a look at female artists working in the same milieu, as well as a good discussion about why the term "pre-raphaelite" is perhaps a misnomer. It's a perfect companion to the show, and will prove rewarding every time you open it. If you can't make it to the show, this is one catalog that really does justice to the objects on view. You can tell the curators poured their hearts and souls into this exhibition, as well as this beautifully bound catalog. (This is all coming from someone who isn't even that interested in the Pre-Raphaelites at all, but was still completely blown away by the show AND the book!)

I had been looking forward all summer long for this exhibition at "The Palace of the Legion of Honor" in San Francisco, Ca. The paintings that I had seen in books of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood have always been favorites of mine since Jr. High school and I had planned to take my god-daughter to see this show as her first museum experience (she is a natural artist), for a wonderful outing together to share the joy. Alas - a family emergency kept both of us away from going anywhere for months. The exhibition closed on September 30th, 2018. I started to look on Amazon hoping to find a copy of the catalogue, could not, but I was very glad to find this well written book about the show, comparing and contrasting the great artists of the Medieval and Renaissance era's to the Pre-Raphaelite artists, which was the purpose of the exhibition. I haven't finished the book yet, but the photographs are lovely. It is a beautifully made book with high quality paper and quality printing and binding. It really emphasizes just how much we missed an incredible opportunity to see these in person. Some of my long favorite paintings were in the exhibition and are fairly large and a picture in a book isn't the same as standing in front of them, taking time to just absorb the details and beauty of all of these artists. I understand that many of these items are in private collections so that even going to Britain in person won't allow me to see all of them. This book is beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone who loves art for a new perspective of these amazing artists.

I usually don't buy books on museum exhibits, but this book was a must have, on a once in a lifetime exhibition. Not only were the greatest pre-Raphaelite paintings there, but they were displayed alongside the art that influenced them! What a treasure, in every sense. It is an unique book, on an unforgettable exhibit.

I bought this book in preparation for seeing the Truth and Beauty Exhibit at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. The images are stunning and the history of the movement really enhanced the experience of seeing the Pre-Rapaelites in person. I've returned to the book several times now and enjoy revisiting the painting and other art forms included in the book.

Read the entire book. Easy read for clinical informatics board prep. Found a few errors in the answer key to the practice test questions.

I used this book to review for the Informatics boards, which I just took today. While I don't have the results, I felt prepared. My two main sources for prep for the Informatics boards were the AMIA CIBRC+ review course (online lectures and sample test) and this book. In terms of my background, I did not do a formal informatics fellowship or masters, and qualified via practice pathway after serving 3 years as CHIO of a local healthcare system in a major city (that is part of a large healthcare network). While I don't need to get boarded, I do want to teach fellows as our affiliate university has an informatics fellowship.Since I did not do a formal fellowship, I think the most important thing to say is, as above, I felt prepared. Of the 200 questions today, I'd say ~5 I had absolutely no clue what they were talking about. My study plan was something like: watch all AMIA CIBRC videos in 2x speed. Then read each section in this book, and compare with the Powerpoints from the CIBRC videos. Then I did the test questions from this book, and reviewed each question I got wrong or answer choice I did not know to find out what my deficiencies were. Then I did the AMIA CIBRC test questions. As I have a family and a full time job, I started studying about 2 months prior to the exam, ~60 min per day.In terms of content, this book and the AMIA CIBRC course contained about 90-95% of the same information. If you learn better by reading, this is definitely the better option. I think the AMIA course went a little too in-depth in some areas, whereas at least for the test I took today, this book was about right. The test questions for this book felt easier (I got 77% correct) than the AMIA CIBRC test questions (I got 73% correct). Notably, the length and style of test questions from both these sample tests were very representative of the actual exam. Difficulty of questions probably closer to AMIA CIBRC.The only negatives for this book are that it does contain some typos. For example I think it listed the formula for NNT as 1/ERR, when it is 1/ARR. Also about 5 of the answers for the sample test were incorrectly listed, but the explanation clearly identified the correct answer.Also, the only other advantage of the CIBRC is that after you've done all the questions, you can see the breakdown in terms of how other people did. Basically it seemed I was on par with everyone else. The questions I missed most other people did too.I'll update this review once I find out if I passed. I think in terms of me passing it'll come down to how difficult they want to make it to pass. If 65 or 70% is passing, I think I'll be ok. If 80% is passing, I'm in trouble! But I don't know that more studying would have made a major difference... I'd need to first expand to reading more primary literature or more detailed textbooks like Shortliffe.Overall I think the AMIA CIBRC+ course is extremely overpriced for what you get. Since they are recorded lectures, at this point I don't think they should charge more than $500. If I have to do it again, or if I am asked how someone should prepare, I would recommend buying this book and the CIBRC sample test (only) so you have more questions to check yourself with. If you are on a budget, this book is all you need.EDIT: 2/7/2019, I passed with a good margin!

I first came across the concept of mortgage acceleration payoff on YouTube through a series of videos from ReplaceYourMortgage.com. The video's prompted me to research the strategy more thoroughly to verify its legitimacy. It turns out that there are dozens of companies marketing this strategy.After researching this acceleration payoff strategy on several blogs and forums, I found individual testimonies of how it truly worked for them. So I was determined to learn the strategy for myself. The problem that I ran into though was the ridiculous amount of money some of these companies wanted for their services. In the ballpark of $4,000 to $5,000!I almost paid $4,000 to ReplaceYourMortgage.com... that was until I came across a YouTube video of the Speed Equity System created by Harj Gill ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sm-MFuciBw ). Mr. Gill gives a brief presentation explaining how to use his Speed Equity System to take advantage of the key banking principle he discovered. I learned that Mr. Gill brought this mortgage acceleration payoff strategy from Australia to the United States in the late 90’s. I didn't understand what the key banking principle was so I decided to purchase his book, How to Own Your Home Years Sooner & Retire Debt Free (U.S. Edition).Book Review:I devoured the book in three days! Mr. Gill is an educator and it clearly show’s throughout his book. He ensures that the most important principles are explained in a way that you won’t forget. One example is The Key Banking Principle: "The interest on your mortgage is calculated on the DAILY OUTSTANDING BALANCE and charged at the end of the month (called monthly in arrears)." He does an excellent job at helping you understand what The Key Banking Principle is and how you can use it to your advantage.He also exposes a lot of myths and bad information circulating about money and mortgages. One example is the misunderstanding that it is advantageous for you to NOT payoff your mortgage because of the tax deduction on the interest. WRONG! Mr. Gill plainly presents in his book how this line of thinking is false and that NOT having a mortgage frees up a substantial amount of your disposable income each year.Mr. Gill’s book also exposes the problems of how we have been taught to pay down our homes and offers a fantastic solution. Hopefully this review can provide you with basic information to make a better decision.I am a husband, father, and a high school teacher with a strong desire and interest in the concept of paying off our two mortgages; the one for our rental and the one for our primary home. My initial inquiries for more information began online, migrated to YouTube, and then eventually took me to my local bookstore. It was during my YouTube search that I came across the video presentation and the book, “own your home years sooner…”. I purchased and read it over two days and suddenly felt empowered with a tactical plan to accomplish our goal. I understood the concept but wanted to ensure my best understanding. For that reason, I reached out to the author, Harj Gill, to cultivate a relationship which could surround me with a mentor to help us accomplish our goals. I’m very glad that I did.Part of the tactical plan of the book is to help us lay out a specific road map which allows us to see the power of the strategy as it ‘kills off’ the loan(s) over time. The program shows you the impact of what cash injections have on the length of the loan and the amount of interest that is saved. The results of these reports, however, are only as good as the accuracy of the information. I actually made my own table in Excel and I believed that my table could give me the specific information needed to sustain the discipline which the strategy requires. What I discovered is that Harj’s program, the Speed Equity Software, is more thorough because it has more input variables than my table. The short story here is that moving forward; Harj’s software program will be what I will be using.Please note the words that I used in the previous chapter. Each of these elements is necessary. They were ‘specific information’, ‘sustain’, and ‘discipline’. You will need specific inputs to produce the best and most accurate results. Accuracy is the key. You will also need stamina and discipline to sustain this endeavor. In all likelihood, this will take time, in many cases multiple years. Both spouses need to see the vision otherwise it will be very difficult to see the goal through completion with only one of you on-board. Finally, let me add another term; positive cash flow. This is not for everyone and you do need positive cash flow at the end of the month in order to make this a reality. If you do not have positive cash flow, you will need to discover ways to create it, and or save it. Positive cash flow is not covered in this book but you will need it just the same. A great first step towards positive cash flow is a budget. I mean a real budget, one that tells you exactly what your income is and where you are spending each of your dollars. There are many factors that produce success, but the more positive cash flow that you have the greater your results.If you are serious about paying off your mortgage and want a step-by-step plan that will put you on the ‘correct track’ to see your goal, without breaking the bank to get informed, then this is a book that ought to be in your library.

This would have been a really special read if I had not read it before. Called "The Marco Effect: Department Q" novelwhich is the exact same book so whatever you do if you have read The Marco Effect, do NOT order this book.They are one and the same book and I am astounded that Amazon did not pick up on this!!

Unfortunately, Jussi Adler-Olsen's books are sometimes published under different titles. This book is the same as "Marco Effect", which I had already read. It is an well written crime novel that is so much more. The characters are intriguing and, in each of his novels, one learns more about the Department Q characters. That doesn't mean you need to read every novel in order to enjoy them, but it does mean that you can't wait to get your hands on the next one. And, you are very disappointed when the book is one you have already read and added to your collection, just under a different title.

''Buried'' is another great installment of the ''Department Q'' book series and it is a worthy successor of the previous four books in which we met Carl Mork, his mysterious sidekick Assad and the bizarre secretary named Rose. This book is about the story of an abused child who manages to escape from his tormentors who force him to work as a beggar, and his days of hiding from both his old gang and the police who are searching for him frantically. ''Buried'' is a highly underrated book as many people seem to believe that it is actually the worst of the ''Department Q'' novels but i think that this is wrong as the book has a lot of good qualities such as suspense, action a good plot and the trademark of Jussi Adler Olsen, the acerbic humor, especially in the Carl-Assad interactions. If you are a fan of the series you certainly don't want to miss this one!

The Marco Effect, is a better name for this book, as he does affect you, you cannot help but fall for the poor child and want someone to help him. It's heartbreaking and sad to know similar real life stories go on, obviously not to this degree, but children left without love or care, which is why Marco pulls at the heart strings. Besides that there is the typical mess of Dept Q, camels abound, a little sex in the office, new bosses & with two cases to solve everyone's working hard at it ..... of course it will all be figured out in the end and not without a giggle or two, and some extreme respect for the author and translator for making this series so very special.

I was quite a few pages into this latest Department Q story when I actually went back to the book description just to make sure I actually had a Department Q book. It does take quite a bit of the story before Carl and Co. actually make an appearance.The "guest" in this story, as given in the book description, is a 15 year old boy, Marco. What he can't do to escape his tormentors just isn't worth worrying about - he is the slickest, smartest, most street-wise 15 year old running! That does get just a teeny, tiny bit tedious but, as usual Carl & Co win the day - and I can't wait for Department Q No. 6 to be released. And I am wondering if there is going to be a little of the Lincoln Rhymes about this next book???? Just my personal thought!

Another delightful read in Adler-Olsen's "Q" series. A more complex, darker plot than the light-hearted stories of the previous 4 books in the series. Serious corruption at the very senior levels of commerce, illegal immigrants to Denmark, and the African mafia all combine to make an intriguing mix of horror and dastardly deeds. Carl Morck and his colleagues, Assad & Rose, don't make an appearance until 10% into the book - so the reader needs to persevere while awaiting the return of the favourite three. Assad & Rose excel themselves in their approach to crime detection and Carl almost plays "second fiddle" to his quirky, likeable offsiders. I anxiously await the arrival of Book 6 in the series.

Not up to the usual standard of the first four Dept Q novels. I actually kept going back to the cover to make sure I had the right book when I started reading it, as it didn't sound like Jussi's writing at all, not for a long time. Everything gradually unfolds but it takes a long time and I missed the usual characters for half a book. Some things were just all over the place and some were just too coincidental too often. A great story in the end, and very enjoyable.

Ouch! why was this book re titled when it first was sold as the Marco effectNot. Fair to say the leastI started reading a page or two. Then discovered this fact. I am trying to return this "sheep in wolf's clothing"
