As a new nurse starting my career in a level 1 trauma center, this handy dandy spiral bound pocket book is perfect! I can easily and quickly look up specific stuff if I want an idea of something specific. It really helped with a few patients EKG strips that I had a hard time figuring out. It’s got so much information! I had a masters degree prepared nurse ask to look at it and she was blown away by the information and it’s quality! Highly recommend this!!
As an undergraduate paramedic, I found this very essential to whom studying or already working in the emergency medical field for the following reasons:-1- Very comprehensive information regarding almost everything that may be encountered in the emergency medical field. It is true that most information is not mentioned in much details, but I think it is the sole purpose of this pocket guide. It is not a reference or textbook, it is a reminder/guide of information that could be forgotten or miss-retrieved.2-The information is very accessible, no need for much effort looking for a specific drug or information.3-The size is not too large to not be carriable. Which is very important, especially for paramedics.
Small and simplified. This is a great resource. I take it to work with me every night in the ED, and refer to it often. In downtime, I read through it and always learn something new. I am so glad I have it!
As a nursing student I feel like these are super helpful. I was entering my critical care rotation and decided to purchase this one so it could help me if I needed it. I love that its small and fits in my scrub pocket and isn't bulky! This has great tips and labs and meds that are common in critical and emergency care. From cardiac to Peds, its extremely helpful! I def recommend these for any nursing student or even new nurses who need a little help at times!
I really enjoy this little thing, when I remember I have it. I like having drug dosages for critical meds right at my fingertips. It's a brief refresher for those details you might not encounter daily and need reminding about. I've known resident MDs who carry around this same pocket guide and love it.
This always come in handy. My favorite use is the RSI and pediatric medication dosages. However, the new edition might need to better cross-referenced for the toxicology section.If you are an EMT or AEMT, this version may be too advanced. Only purchase this ACLS version after mastering the BLS version. This goes out to all those Super-Basics with 8+ years of experience.
SUPER Useful. If you are an EMT, Paramedic, or a medic student, this comes in handy in all sorts of situations. The color coded tabs help locate things very easily as well. My personal favorite part of this product is the section of commonly prescribed drugs. Some of the medications that patients are on can sound so obscure, but this book lets you find it super quick without needing to pull out your phone.Would definitely recommend to anyone in EMS!
This has everything you need as a paramedic. I bought another guide and it was missing critical information. I have been doing my ride alongs and this has been an amazing companion. Very easy to find what you need and the drop charts make everything manageable in stressful situations. Wish I had just bought this guide first.
